The food is ok. The service is also ok. I recommend not to get the chicken curry because there is no chicken, just vegetables and curry.

This is a relatively recent addition to the Lisle Streetfront Chinatown options and how exciting it was for me to see a woman in the window meticulously making dumplings by hand. The entrance is new, inviting, and the window show is worth a stop just to watch. It gives the Beijing Dumpling joint a few doors down a run for their money, at least in the visible entertainment area. That, however, is about where the competition stops. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by the employees and after placing a take away order, I tried to pay by credit card which was firmly refused. I was pointed to a small yellow sign on the wall in the middle of the restaurant that declares "Cash Only". My bad, I didn't see it and since this was a meal on an expense account, I prefer to use a card as a transaction record. My backup plan was to go to an ATM so I politely told the employee that he could cancel the order and I would to go get cash and come back. He kind of panicked and I think was worried that I would not come back so he then magically produced a credit card machine from deep under the counter and voila, the place miraculously took a credit card. That kind of merchant behavior irritates me to no end (it is similar to the cab driver that insists they can only take cash when they clearly have a card reader on the meter). Regardless, I took my order and left feeling kind of dirty about the shadiness of the transaction but it did not seem to be my fault. Luckily, I did not have to base my lower rating solely on that as the food was disappointing too. I ordered some very common items including their signature dumplings and it was some of the most tasteless stuff I've had in London Chinatown. Ma-Po Tofu was devoid of ground meat and while it was blazing red in color, it had zero heat and was forgettable. I suspect food coloring as the appearance was not a naturally occurring color. The dumplings were good but not great. I have visiting many of the places in London's Chinatown and always get the same things so I have some comparative perspective. This will not be high on my list of places to hit up in the future.

first of all, DO NOT order the mango pudding. it's sooooo bad. bland and come in cubes!! wtf???
we ordered xiao long bao, lamb and beef skewers. they are not bad taste wise. but what they boast of as michelin star chefs handmade xiao long bao is such a joke. the wrap is too thick for chinese standard.
we also ordered pan fried dumplings which not only took almost an hour to arrive but also taste really bad. i started writing  this review while waiting for the dumplings and rated the restaurant for 3 stars and after it arrived i can only give it 1 star now. yeah that's how bad it tastes.
    煎餃子和芒果布丁太難吃了,羊肉串還不錯,小籠包皮太厚,餃子漏單等半天才上。世界這麼大,我應該不會來這家第二次。

Xiao long bao is descent. Highly recommend the lotus bao with pork. And bun was fluffy and the pork was tender.

I ran into this restaurant with my husband traveling to London on vacation. We saw many Chinese people patronizing this restaurant thus thought it could be a good choice. We were disappointed by the waiting and the inefficiency of the service. Our waiter missed our drinks; the foods came without utensils to eat with; they only accept cash so be warned if you don't carry enough cash. We ordered the steam chicken dumplings, sautéed julienned potatoes and a duck bun. The duck bun was most disappointing, it was dry and haphazardly put together. The potatoes dish was good. The dumplings were ok. Overall I would not recommend this place unless you have no better choice.
